Of Bikes and Men (of the Netherlands) is a fun, illustrated book about the endless ways people — and sometimes even animals — ride bicycles in the Netherlands, and what that reveals about the country.

It’s also a book about the part of our humanity that the bicycle brings out in each of us.

Of Bikes And Men is a series of bicycle illustrations which I started when I definitely moved to The Hague in 2017. 
The idea of this long term personal project is to draw an original but realistic portrait of the people of Netherland through their bicycles.

Most of these illustrations are inspired by real life situations I witnessed myself. 

 When I began these illustrations I had - and I still have - two references in mind.

About: Nicolas Journoud:
Hi! My name is Nicolas Journoud. I'm a French director, illustrator and animator based in Den Haag since 2017 after 10 years in Central Asia. I'm interested by environemental, social and cultural topics and by tough projects which desserve a good story. 
I speak fluently français, english and по-русски.
